At the beginning of the season new CPC team members take part in an extensive Induction Course which is undertaken on the station that they are based.  The first week is a formal program followed by continued training on the core tasks of the role.

The skills covered include horsemanship, horse shoeing, cattle work, mustering, fencing, water and mechanical maintenance and motorbike skills. The induction also allows our new team members to learn information such as low stress stock handling techniques and Workplace Health and Safety within the pastoral industry.

All team members have an opportunity to create with their managers, a development plan as they work through their Individual Competence Assessments. These development needs are addressed through formal and informal training
programs throughout the year and the course of their employment.

Courses offered may include:

    • Horse Handling Schools

We also believe our team members are a vital link in the continuing success of our company and therefore everyone is encouraged to join our regular company conference calls so they can keep informed on what is happening within the business, future initiatives and share their ideas on our journey to become the preferred employer within the Pastoral Industry.

To encourage our team to utilise and present their skills outside of the daily working environment CPC encourages staff to be involved in company and community campdrafts, rodeos, colt challenges and other events.

We are always looking for team members who are self-reliant, resourceful, practical, versatile, adaptable, capable and have the ability to deal with different personalities that living in a rural community offers.

Socially, life in the bush is what you make it. Whether it is heading to a camp draft, to the nearest centre for the local races, relaxing on the station or those friendly cricket matches there is always something going on.
