CPC ranked 2nd in AFR Boss Best Places to Work 2023 List

Consolidated Pastoral Company has been named on the 2023 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work List

Today, Consolidated Pastoral Company was honoured to be recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work. The prestigious annual list, published by The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine, is based on a rigorous assessment process managed by Australia’s leading behavioural science consultancy, Inventium.

We were honoured to rank #2 on the Agriculture, Mining and Utilities list, from over 700 nominated organisations across Australia and New Zealand. The assessment was made up of a staff survey and a written submission, with questions relating to policies, practices and programs that exist within our organisation to support and get the best out of our employees. The methodology is underpinned by Inventium’s Workplaces of the Future framework, which identifies ten key factors that are critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work and is supported by extensive research.

Consolidated Pastoral Company was thrilled to be recognised for our achievements and practices around wellbeing, purpose, gender equality, growth, challenge and belonging.
Commenting on the announcement, Troy Setter, Chief Executive of CPC, said:

“We’ve worked very hard on attraction and retention in the last seven years.” CPC’s Chief Executive Officer, Troy Setter said. He attributes the success to four things; “By setting clear rules around merit-based promotion, a reputation for gender equity, a systematic approach to removing barriers to success, and recruiting people who match the company’s values.” He noted that mental health is a priority for CPC and has been a key focus for the last two years, which saw the introduction of their ‘conversation starter’ Trademutt shirts in 2021.
Previous winners in the Agriculture, Mining and Utilities category include Nufarm, Energy Australia, CBH Group, Igo and Groundprobe.

“Inventium is proud to announce the 2023 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list in conjunction with the Australian Financial Review. After analysing data from tens of thousands of employees, we are excited to announce the very best workplaces across Australia and New Zealand. These are workplaces that offer employees ultra flexibility, that place wellbeing at the heart of the employee experience, and that ensure people feel a sense of belonging, no matter what their background is.”
Dr Amantha Imber, Founder, Inventium

“It is great to see so many companies recognising that their employees are more than simply the tasks they perform. These employers are helping staff to fulfil their multiple roles, as parents, carers and partners, who want to grow and learn, and stay healthy.”
Sally Patten, Editor, BOSS
