Training

CPC has an enviable record in the training of staff and this training is particularly relevant to all staff who have a need to either learn or upgrade skills. As a Jackeroo or Jillaroo with CPC you will have the opportunity to learn, and in fact be expected to learn:

  • Horsemanship skills
  • Cattle handling skills
  • Animal husbandry
  • Driving 4WDs, trucks, tractors and motor cycles
  • To repair and maintain windmills, pumps, troughs, etc.
  • Station butchering
  • To work as part of a team
  • First Aid
  • Welding

This list is by no means exhaustive and there are many other skills that may be learnt on CPC stations. The scope is extremely wide - the main limit being the person's own aptitude and interest in the skills he/she wishes to pursue.

To supplement your training by CPC personnel it is our custom to use professional instructors from outside the company. This practice allows staff access to some of this nation's leading trainers with international standing.

To encourage staff to utilise and present their skills outside the daily working environment CPC are involved in company and community Campdrafts, Rodeos, Colt Challenges and other events.

Other Career Opportunities

CPC, with its subsidiaries is Australia's most diversified pastoral company. We have ownership in various aspects of beef and cattle production and, rural land and agricultural management. For example we export in excess of 100,000 live cattle to Asian and North African countries, and we manage a variety of agricultural projects for the World Bank and other organisations in many countries through GRM International.
