Ideally situated half way between Nockatunga and Newcastle Waters, 595 sq km Mimong is a year round hive of activity in its role as a growing out property and stopover depot for cattle travelling to or from the Territory.

The weaners steers - some as young as three months - come in drafts of 1,000 from the Northern Territory properties to be grown out on Mimong's Mitchell and Flinders grass downs.

Receiving an average annual rainfall of 390 mm, the property can carry 7,000 bullocks, most going on to be finished as Jap ox at Nockatunga or Isis Downs.

Mimong is also noted for the quality of its horses, breeding superb Stock Horses. Operating for more than a century, Mimong carried sheep until the 1970s. It was purchased by CPC in 1984, swelling to its current size with the acquisition of Cecil Plains and The Ranch leases a year later.

CPC has been very successful with a breeding programme putting Charalois bulls over Brahman females on their northern properties. A Charalois stud has been formed on Mimong to supply acclimatised bulls for these properties.
