This 4,454 sq km breeding property is run in conjunction with Newcastle Waters, situated 160 km away. Comprising 60 per cent open bloodwood forest and 40 per cent lancewood and bullwaddy, Dungowan carries 14,000 head, branding 5,000 calves a year.

After weaning, steers are trucked to either Queensland finishing properties for growing out, sent to neighbouring Newcastle Waters.

Allan grew up on his father’s small property in the NSW area of Grafton and graduated from South Grafton High in 1983. After leaving school Allan began working on properties in The Kimberly and in 1987 made the move to Ban Ban Springs at Hays Creek catching bulls and buffalo and was promoted to the role of Head Stockman for the buffalo domestication program. In 1988 he moved to Morestone running the stock camp and eventually onto Gallipoli in 1989, where he progressed to Leading Hand in 1990. In 1991-1992 he moved back to his home state of NSW and worked at Doboy Station located in Northern NSW. In 1997 he took pursued a different field and began working in meat processing industry as a slicer whilst studying Meat Inspection.
In 2012 Allan returned to station life at Gallipoli Station for Northern Australian Pastoral Company and began working for CPC in 2014. Allan lives at Dungowan with his partner Terryanne and two children Sarah and Madilyn.
Allan enjoys participating in various equestrian sports including campdrafting and showjumping.
