Located 120 km south east of Kununurra near the Western Australia / Northern Territory border, 1,000 sq km Argyle Downs is situated in the centre of the Western properties.

With a mix of black soil plains and red basalt country and the Ord River Dam / Lake Argyle on its Western Boundary, the property’s Flinders and Mitchell grass pastures are perfect to finish steers for live export out of Wyndham.

The property turns off 7500 head annually to the live export market in South East Asia.

Another important role of the station is to breed and supply reliable Australian Stock Horses for the other CPC holdings; it’s lush areas of river couch around Lake Argyle being ideal for growing out these well-bred, versatile mounts.

Originally much larger, a major percentage of the property was resumed by the Government in the late 1950s for the Ord River Irrigation Scheme.
