The 1989 purchase of the noted Allawah Brahman stud underpins an ongoing commitment by Consolidated Pastoral Co to constantly improve the genetics of its stud and commercial herds.

Previously owned by the Clarke family, who registered the stud No. 18 in 1960, Allawah has sold grey Brahman bulls to every Australian mainland state and to the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.

The 3,071 hectare bloodwood forest and brigalow block is situated in a 625 mm rainfall belt, 145 km south of Rockhampton. Its 650 stud females produce bulls and females for use in the Company's single sire, stud and commercial breeding programs.

Predominantly based on Australian bloodlines, imported genetics have been infused using embryo transfer and artificial insemination to keep Allawah at the forefront of the stud industry. Performance evaluation is also identified through commercial progeny testing of elite sire lines.
