About CPC

Consolidated Pastoral Company Pty Ltd (CPC), was formed in 1983 with the purchase of Newcastle Waters Station, and some smaller Northern Territory holdings, from Ashburton Pastoral Company.

Since that time, strategically located properties have been purchased in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales allowing CPC to access the expanding South-East Asian live export trade, grass fed Jap Ox and the local domestic market.

Concentration on the vast grazing areas across northern Australia has enabled successful drought management, market flexibility, easy access to export markets and low cost production of high quality grassfed, lotfed and export cattle.

CPC owns 16 properties totalling 5 million hectares and is responsible for the management of more than 300,000 cattle across North Australia.

Recently, private equity firm Terra Firma acquired a majority share in CPC in April 2009. Terra Firma raises funds from external investors across the world, including pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds and individuals . Terra Firma's funds make investments in selected businesses around the world. These portfolio businesses currently operate in more than sixty countries globally. As a result of Terra Firma's investment, CPC is looking forward to an exciting period of development during which it will continue to build on its position as one of Australia's leading pastoral companies.

At the helm of CPC is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Ken Warriner, a former co-owner of Ashburton Pastoral Company and current shareholder of Consolidated Pastoral Company Pty Ltd. His commitment to excellence in beef production has placed the company at the forefront of Australia's pastoral industry and has extended that reputation across the world.
